With Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens set to hit the big screen
on Thursday 17, Stormtroopers will storm their way into St Helens town
centre – as part of a special Star Wars Day event.
Courtesy of Star Wars based Costume Group, 99th Garrison, the
Stormtroopers, accompanied by a Shadow and Sand trooper will roam around Church Square on Sunday 6 December from 11am – 3pm where you will be able to have your picture taken with Darth Vader’s soldiers.
Commenting ahead of the day, St Helens Council Leader, Barrie Grunewald, said: “This day is a must for Star Wars fans young and old, which will really get you in the mood ahead of the release of the film next month – so get down to Church Square on Sunday 6 December and release the inner Jedi in you.”
St Helens town centre provides a great range of high street stores and
independent shops, quality restaurants, pubs and bars.
Easily accessible car parking can be found at Chalon Way Car Park and
throughout the town centre. Parking on Chalon Way, Birchley Street and St. Mary’s car parks is free after three. And don’t forget the free council
town centre car parking available every Saturday.
