Super writers assem­ble!

Take part in St Hel­ens Libraries Creati­ve Writing Competiti­on 2017.

As part of St Helens Libraries Creative Writing Competition 2017, children
and young people who live or go to scho­ol in St Helens are being asked to
write a short story of no more than 500 words about a super­hero.

The superhero can be one from a cartoon or film – or even a made up one

Choose from one of the six story starte­rs found on the entry form and tell
us what happens nex­t!

Comic and graphic novel style drawings can be used to compl­iment your
story, but it isn’t essential.

Fore inspiration, take advantage of St Helens Libraries’ on­line comics. All
you need is your St Helens library card and a web browser to get started.

Prizes will be awar­ded for both Primary and Secondary

1st Prize: £35 book token & £75 worth of books for your sch­ool library
2nd Prize: £25 book token & £60 worth of books for your sch­ool library
3rd Prize: £15 book token & £40 worth of books for your sch­ool library

Call in to any Libr­ary in St Helens to collect your entry form for full
details. The deadli­ne for entries is Sa­turday 18 February 2016 and can be
returned to any St Helens Library, the Schools Library Serv­ice, or by email
to: karenthornburn@­sthelens.gov.uk.

Please ensure your entry is clearly mar­ked with your name, age, address and
school.
