Kiera makes primary school pupil’s Christmas wish come true

Christmas came a little early this year for one Garswood Primary School
pupil – when she came face-to-face with her idol.

Following a heartfelt letter to her head teacher last month, asking to
tweet X Factor star Kiera Weathers and invite her to visit the school, Year
5 pupil Grace Yates must have thought her chance had gone begging, only for Kiera to turn up at the school’s end of term carol concert for a sing along – where she handed Grace a signed T-shirt.

In her hand written letter, Grace said the purpose of Kiera’s visit would
be to ‘inspire the children of Garswood never to give up on their dreams’ –
which Kiera stressed the importance of during a question and answer session with the children; before heading outside to join in with a medley of
Christmas carols.

The event brought families of the school children and other members of the
Garswood community together to fully embrace the festive season, as many of them joined in and sang along with the traditional carols.

Head teacher, Pam Potter said: “All of the children enjoyed taking part in
our community carol service – from the nursery children all the way up to
Year 6 –  and to have Kiera take the time out of her busy schedule to visit
Garswood was an extra treat. It was a great way to end the school term.”
