Thousands of residents didn’t let the rain dampen their day as they turned
out to enjoy the Newton Town Show.
Hosted by the non-profit Newton and Earlestown Community Group, the event – held at Mesnes Park – was packed full of fantastic attractions which saw two army attack helicopters circle the area before landing in the park to get the day off to a flying start.
A wheelie impressive performance from motorcycle display team, Inch Perfect Trials also proved popular with the crowd – along with pitch perfect
performances by the Haydock Male Voice Choir and Valley Brass Band.
Visitors could also enjoy funfair rides, birds of prey, arts and crafts,
classic cars, zip-lines, samba bands, Segway rallying, the annual
highly-contested Tug o’ War competition and much more.
All donations and proceeds on the day went towards making next year’s event even bigger and better, as well as funding local groups’ and schools’
projects throughout the year, creating a wonderfully community-oriented
