Free fun family workshops in libraries

As part of the Arts Council funded Cultural Hubs ‘Arts in Libraries’
programme, Horse + Bamboo Theatre will be providing a high quality workshop in the art of animation and shadow puppetry at Newton-le-Willows and St Helens Central Library – ahead of their show ‘Red Riding Hood’ at The Citadel Arts Centre in December.

Participants will be able to create the story, puppets and props of the
classic story, Little Red Riding Hood, with the opportunity to perform
their piece of puppet theatre – all in under an hour and a half.

Horse + Bamboo Theatre have been making and touring high quality visual
theatre for over 30 years and have developed a reputation for the unique
and distinctive visual impact of their shows. They are well known for their
puppetry and mask work for both adults and children.

The free workshop, suitable for families with children aged 4+, will take
place at Newton-le-Willows library at 10:30am and St Helens Central Library at 1:30pm on Saturday 21.

St Helens Council’s portfolio holder for libraries, councillor Jeanie Bell,
said: “Everyone likes to show-off their creative side once in a while, so
get down to either Newton-le-Willows library or St Helens Central Library,
because these free workshops are too good of an opportunity to turn down.”

Tickets will need to be pre-booked and can be done so by visiting
www.culturalhubs.eventbrite.co.uk, calling 01744 677446 or by visiting any
St Helens library.
