With Christmas and New Year to look forward to, there’s always that little
bit of confusion in households about recycling and waste collections.
There are three weeks of affected dates over the holidays, but there’s no
need to anxiously wait to see which bins your neighbours are putting out!
Read on to see what to put out and when, as listed on your personalised
collection calendar. Remember to have your waste ready for collection from 6:30am.
In the week leading up to Christmas (21-25 December), all collections will
be earlier than usual. If your normal collection is Monday 21 December for
brown bin and Kerbside recycling, collection will be on Saturday 19
December. For the rest of that week (22-25 December), all collections will
occur one day earlier.
In the week leading up to New Year’s Day (28 December – 1 January), all
collections will be later than usual. They’ll be one day later if your
normal collection is 28-30 December. Thursday 31 December collections will occur on Saturday 2 January; and Friday 1 January collections will be on Monday 4 January.
In the following week (4-8 January), all collections will be one day later
than usual, after which normal service will resume.
Please refer to your collection calendar to avoid confusion. It’s important
that you use all the services during these weeks to avoid a build-up of
recycling and waste and to allow for a smooth collection when normal
Residents are also reminded that green bin collection will restart as
normal in the week commencing 25 January 2016.
