As part of St Helens Council’s Arts Council England funded Cultural Hubs – Arts In Libraries Programme and The Heart Of Glass’s Prototype commissions, local break dancing group UC Crew will be rising to an intense challenge – performing in all thirteen St Helens libraries in one day.
Called Books and Breakin’ the event on Monday 10 August will see members from UC Crew dashing between all thirteen St Helens libraries to throw down their dance floor, perform a short breakin’ set, and move on to the next library.

Health and Wellbeing, said: “Heart of Glass and Cultural Hubs are all about exciting arts events, so it’s really interesting to see a Heart Of Glass
prototype commission taking place in all St Helens libraries in one day.
“UC Crew have been working in our borough for years now as an established arts organisation. The team do a lot of great work within our most deprived communities, reaching out to young people who might not ordinarily get involved in traditional arts activities.
