A Barbers proved themselves a cut above by helping to raise more than £1,000 in aid of Willowbrook Hospice by offering free haircuts.
Earlestown-based The Gentlemans Social joined forces with Fleckys Tattoo Studio in Golborne for the one-day event.
Two barbers chairs were set up at Fleckys, who also offered cancer ribbon tattoos in return for donations on the day.
A raffle also took place with prizes, drinks and cancer ribbon cupcakes.
“We raised £1,250 on the day and it was a really great day and very rewarding,” said Scott Anderson, of the Gentlemans Social.
“We were overwhelmed with the amount of support and people who came down on the day.
“It was the brainchild of my shop manager Liam Twist as his grandad spent time at Willowbrook battling cancer.
“We came to the realisation we have all been affected in some way by cancer, be it a loved one, friend or customer and we recognise the amount of care and support Willowbrook offers for people in need and the family members through such a difficult time.
“We thought it would be rewarding to put our passion into something that can help raise money and awareness for such a great cause.”
